Belt cleaners and loading zone equipment
Material that sticks to the belt travels back along the return run, builds up on idlers and pulleys and causes belt drift and downtime. At the loading point the belt takes impacts that damage the covers and the carcass, often invisibly. Correctly selected cleaners and loading zone equipment extend belt life and reduce material spillage. We supply and install cleaners, impact bars and loading zone equipment. Conveyor idlers →
Belt cleaners
Primary – at the head pulley, below the material discharge – removes coarse build-up
Secondary – directly behind the pulley or below the belt – fine material
Diagonal / plough – on the return run before the tail pulley – protects the pulley
Brush – chevron belts and belts with cleats
Blades: rubber (single-layer or three-layer); polyurethane – for belts with mechanical fasteners, also in heat- and chemical-resistant versions; polyurethane with a tungsten carbide blade – highest efficiency and service life. We also supply replacement blades.
Impact and slider bars
impact bars replace idlers in the loading zone – the rubber layer absorbs the impact, the sliding layer reduces friction
slider bars seal the loading zone together with the skirt rubber
bars 1200 and 1500 mm long, for belts of various widths
supply and installation
Loading zone sealing
skirt rubber in rolls or as ready-cut strips Rubber sheets →
rubber curtains and sheets against dust
dust-sealing profiles and belt-edge skirting bars against spillage
Belt tracking
Self-aligning idler sets bring the belt back to the centre of the conveyor and prevent edge damage and spillage. Conveyor idlers →
How to choose a cleaner
Send us the belt width and speed, pulley diameter, splice type (vulcanised or mechanical fasteners), type of material and a photo of the mounting position.
FAQ
The belt runs off to one side – can this be due to cleaning?
Yes, material build-up on idlers and pulleys is a common cause of belt drift. A correctly installed cleaner prevents this.
Which cleaner for a belt with mechanical fasteners?
A cleaner with a polyurethane blade, which does not damage the fasteners.
Does the whole cleaner need to be replaced?
Usually not – only the worn blade is replaced.
Is your belt dirty or running off?
Send us the belt width and speed and a photo of the mounting position – we will get back to you with a quote.
