Lining of feed pits, chutes and hoppers
Feed pits, chutes, hoppers and troughs are exposed to constant impact and wear from material. Without protection, the steel plate wears through quickly, and material sticks and causes blockages. A wear-resistant rubber lining extends the life of the structure, reduces noise and improves material flow.
What we line
feed pits and receiving hoppers for trucks and loaders
chutes and conveyor transfer points
troughs, silos and bins
screens and feeders
hydrocyclones and pipelines (wet conditions) – on request
Lining materials
Wear-resistant natural rubber, softer – impact and fine abrasive material, wet conditions
Wear-resistant rubber, harder – sliding material, skirt rubber
Rubber with bonding layer – bonding directly to steel plate
Rubber-lined steel plates – bolted installation, quick replacement
Ceramic lining (ceramic tiles in rubber) – heaviest wear in chutes and hoppers
Abrasion-resistant sheets with fabric backing – stronger lining
Wear-resistant steel liners (Hardox) – very coarse and sharp material, high temperatures
We choose thickness and type according to the material, drop height and throughput.
How we work
inspection and measurement on site
if needed, repair or fabrication of a new steel structure (chute, hopper) Steel structures →
bonding the rubber or bolting rubber-lined plates
skirt rubber and sealing at the belt loading point
dust-sealing profiles and belt-edge skirting bars against spillage
Benefits
longer life of steel plate and structure
less noise
less material build-up and fewer blockages
faster replacement of worn parts (with bolted plates)

FAQ
Rubber or wear-resistant steel?
Rubber performs better with impact and fine abrasive material and where noise matters; for very large sharp lumps and high temperatures we install wear-resistant steel liners (Hardox).
Can an existing chute be lined?
Yes, usually without cutting the structure.
Is your steel plate wearing through?
Send us photos, dimensions and the type of material – we will get back to you with a quote.
